This sweater took me over 6 months to create — from the first sketch to the final stitch. Inspired by the golden hour view from Griffith Park, it captures Los Angeles in a quiet, cinematic moment: palm trees swaying, the Observatory watching over the city, and downtown glowing in the backdrop.

After 5 rounds of failed sampling, I finally found a breakthrough by combining flat embroidery with felted appliqué. This technique allowed me to preserve the landscape’s detail while keeping the sweater soft and wearable. The domes of the Observatory are made using felt appliqué, adding depth without stiffness.

Each sweater features over 300,000 embroidery stitches, with artwork wrapping seamlessly from front to back, sleeve to sleeve.

This is more than just a sweater — it’s a tribute to the city I love, wrapped in color and thread.
